Jeanne English is the rallymaster for the October First Friday Niter. She wrote it as a basic introduction to Main Road Rules, for those of you who are planning on running Highway Robbery, part of the upcoming USRRC in November. It may sound scary, but SMSCC already has this concept -- it just isn't called Main Road Rules. At every intersection you will follow the Main Road, which most of the time is going straight as possible, unless a route instruction takes you a different way.. This FFN will be using 3 MRRs - onto, right at T, and straight as possible. You already know about ontos and straight as possible. The only 'new' thing is that at all T intersections you will go right unless an onto road goes left (higher priority) or a route instruction instructs you to go left. Route instructions must be executed to take you away (in a different direction) from where the Main Road takes you. This is nothing different than the FFN generals already tell you to do
The route travels up into the Antelope Valley and it's foothills. The finish is at Toppers Pizza Place, 18417 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, 661-222-7888 (at the intersection of Soledad Cyn and Sierra Hwy).
This rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring, with timing in seconds. The maximum penalty this month is 60 seconds (1 minute) per checkpoint. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks - your Official Time shows in the app!

We start at the Bank of America rear lot, 10300 Sepulveda Blvd (Sepulveda and Devonshire) in Mission Hills. In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm.
